Julius ‘Ragos’ Mwelu

I am fourteen years old and my name ‘Mwelu’ in my tribe means that I was born in the morning. I am the last-born in a family of four. I am living in the slum known as Mathare Phase One, in a room which we use as a bedroom, sitting-room and kitchen. I joined MYSA in 1992. I was approached by my friend who was in the organization at that time so I decided to join. When MYSA introduced Shootback, I sent an application and I was chosen to be a member of the Shootback Team. My other interests are reading storybooks, exchanging ideas, playing football and watching movies. My ambition in life is to be a photojournalist.
